Alaska was found to be the most dangerous state in the U.S. according to the recently released FBI 2016 Uniform Crime Report, a national compilation of statistics. You can find the statistics for Alaska here. With a high rate of murder per capita, Alaska was found to be the most dangerous state to live in and the largest city Anchorage the most dangerous city. The low numbers of Alaska’s population and the seasonal nature of many people’s lives can make record keeping for missing persons a difficult task. But these findings are chilling, to say the least.

The report states that in 2016, there were 804 violent crimes per 100,000 Alaskan citizens.
