If you’ve ever made the drive to Bellingham, hopefully you’ve veered off the beaten path (known as I-5) and checked out Washington’s original scenic byway, Chuckanut Drive. Known for its farm fresh food, delightful oysters, and stunning scenery, this 24-mile stretch of road is sometimes referred to as Washington’s Big Sur.
There aren’t many towns you can stop in along the way on this winding route. But if you do decide to make the drive, come hungry. These little farming communities produce some tasty food, and some of the farm stands, restaurants and bakeries have received national attention.

When you venture off I-5 toward Chuckanut Drive, your first stop is Burlington.
