The Texas portion of Route 66 is just 179 miles long, but there’s plenty to see and do in such a short distance. Few people know, for example, that the geographical midpoint of the Mother Road is right here in the Lone Star State. The tiny town of Adrian is little more than a blip on the map, but it embodies the essence of Americana in a way that will make you never want to leave. Easily one of the most charming Route 66 towns in Texas, Adrian is so worth the trip.

Constructed in 1926, the original Route 66 spanned exactly 2,448 miles. It stretched all the way from Los Angeles to Chicago.
