It’s no secret we love fall in New Jersey. The weather hits the perfect mild temperatures, Halloween and Thanksgiving festivities arrive, and of course, there’s the changing of the leaves. The colorful foliage explosion makes any place in New Jersey more gorgeous, but we especially love what it does to some of our favorite waterfalls in the state. Consider Greenbrook Falls, which will soon be surrounded by beautiful fall colors.

The Palisades might be one of the prettiest places in all of New Jersey — and it’s right across the Hudson River, facing New York City.

And as you can see, the forest is positively blanketed in colorful leaves during the fall.

The Palisades is also home to one of the state’s prettiest waterfalls: Greenbrook Falls.

This waterfall is stunning from every angle.

Greenbrook Falls is 250 feet tall, gushing down the cliffs into the Hudson River.

And while we can appreciate the majesty of Greenbrook Falls any time, we have to admit it might be prettiest at fall.

When the leaves of the forest surrounding this waterfall change colors, it creates such a vivid contrast against the falling water.

David Osorio/AllTrails It’s just such a gorgeous sight, and it only happens once a year!

But if you miss the fall foliage — it can be tricky to make sure you get there at the right time — don’t worry!

Michael Matlick/llTrails Even during the coldest, most dead months of the year, Greenbrook Falls is still lovely.

So, grab your cameras and plan a trip to the Palisades!
