One of the best parts about a hike is seeing some truly phenomenal hikes. One of the worst parts of a hike? A steep and challenging ascent. But the good news is that a trail doesn’t have to be hard to be worth it. In fact, one of our absolute favorite hikes in Virginia is accessible via an easy trail.
Blackrock Summit via Trayfoot Mountain and Appalachian Trail is the perfect trail for those who want a view — but without a demanding hike.

The loop trail is on the shorter side — just 1.1 miles long — but it features amazing features.

The trail isn’t steep — just an elevation of 180 feet — but it is rocky.
