Located near Pembroke, Virginia, the Cascades National Recreation Trail features some of the most stunning scenery in Virginia. This relatively uncrowded hiking trail through the Jefferson National Forest is one you won’t soon forget.

Those who have hiked the trail typically recommend taking the lower trail along the creek up to the Cascades Waterfall.

This 66-foot waterfall alone is worth the adventure, but you’ll want to continue hiking to explore even more gorgeous scenery.
