The most unique aspect of Clayton Lake State Park is the dinosaur tracks. Follow the track of real footprints to actually see where the dinosaurs walked and lived. Check out the informational signs for details about dinosaurs and their lives on the land that would later become a state park. You can learn even more about the ancient world at the observatory, as well as the exhibits at the Visitor Center.

Dinosaur Trail has many beautiful aspects, including the variation of its landscape. While the tracks are found on rocky terrain, the approximately one-mile hike will lead you through green, grassy land. Look all around you to fill in the gaps of what the dinosaurs’ surroundings must have looked like.
