snow tubing in New Mexico January 10, 2022 Beth C. What are some of the best winter adventures in New Mexico? Now that you’ve learned all about the best snow tubing in New Mexico, it’s time to focus on some other cold-weather activities to be enjoyed in the Land of Enchantment. Fortunately, there are a lot to choose from! One of our favorite adventures involves tons of gorgeous mountain scenery without requiring a lot of effort. Simply hop on the Sandia Peak Tramway, an incredible tram that will take you all the way to the top of Sandia Peak. During the wintertime, you’ll have the added benefit of spotting some beautiful snow-capped mountain peaks. And just wait until you see the views of Albuquerque in the distance! Another unique wintertime activity is ice fishing. For some of the best ice fishing in New Mexico, we’d recommend going to Lake Maloya or Lake Alice. Both of these bodies of water can be found in Sugarite Canyon State Park. Before you go, be sure to check out the official Sugarite Canyon State Park website to make sure the ice is thick enough to accommodate ice fishing. Of course, these are just a couple of options for spending the winter in New Mexico.
