There’s an engineering wonder hiding in plain sight in the upstate of South Carolina and it’s a sight to behold and an experience to treasure. Liberty Bridge is found within Falls Park on the Reedy at the foot of Greenville’s Main Street and it’s a bridge every South Carolinian should cross at least one time.
The curved footbridge is supported, in part, by two 90-foot masts that support a single suspension cable that runs the length of the bridge.

At 345 feet long and twelve feet wide, it gently curves around the park’s other main attraction, the 40-foot waterfall that spans the entire width of the river.

The bridge acts as both a crossing over the Reedy River as well as a perfect viewing platform to gawk at the waterfall. Visitors can also get a bird’s eye view of the 32-acre Falls Park on the Reedy from the bridge.

What’s more: the river walk on both sides of the river at the park was recently named one of the best river walks in America!
Robin Jarvis Of course, here in South Carolina, we already knew that. But now the whole world knows, thanks to Fodor’s.
The next time you’re seeking a day trip the whole family will enjoy, head to Greenville and put Liberty Bridge at the top of your bucket list.
