The 74,000-acre bird refuge is a wonderful place to find peace and quiet, observe wildlife, and connect with nature. This is one stop where you can easily spend just one day or multiple days exploring. You can spend time on the beaches, observe free-ranging bison and bighorn sheep, hike, or just drive around and admire the landscape. Big Cottonwood Canyon, Cottonwood Heights

You can spend the day driving around the canyon or exploring one of the many trails. For an easy hike, we suggest the Silver Lake Loop Trail.
