We know that Maine is referred to as Vacationland, but we love to argue that it should really be called “hikerland.” Sure, it’s a weird name, but start to make your list of must-do hikes and you’ll soon find that tackling them all will take years. While we’re not entirely sure who to talk to about changing our state’s unofficial nickname, we do know that checking them off our list is a great way to enjoy a day outside. If you’re looking to add to your own list, consider this trail located in southern Maine.

The Cutts Island Trail, located within the Rachel Carson Wildlife Preserve, offers a relatively simple way to enjoy the wetland scenery of southern Maine.

This is a great trail for the spring, summer, and fall. But, like many of the state’s hikes, it’s just as gorgeous in the winter. If you’ve got the right equipment, get out there and appreciate Maine in every single season!
