The Clam Castle is a seasonal seafood shack in Connecticut that opens each April for warm-weather dining. They’re located just past Hammonasset Beach and have been serving up delicious seafood for the last 60 years.

This little place doesn’t look like much, but it sure is tasty! The proximity to the water means that all the seafood is as fresh as can be. There’s indoor and outdoor dining, and it’s casual, so no need to get dressed up.

Donahue’s Clam Castle They have lobster bisque, New England clam chowder, and a tomato-based Rhode Island clam chowder, and they’re all superb.

The Clam Castle has tasty clams, as their name suggests, but the lobster is also magnificent. Maine may be more famous for its lobster rolls, but we have some fantastic lobster rolls in Connecticut, too, and the Clam Castle’s are some of the best!
