When most people think of Hot Springs, North Carolina, a hardware store in the town’s historic district probably falls somewhere behind the town’s namesake springs in terms of what comes to mind first.
And it’s easy to see why, really. Hot Springs, population about 575, is a stunning locale in the mountains of western North Carolina.

Outside of the springs and the Hot Springs Resort and Spa, folks traveling here are likely to hit the river for some rafting, hit a few of the nearby trails, like Max Patch, and dine out in the few restaurants that really cater to the out-of-towners.
