Oftentimes, the rushing cascades inside Kent Falls State Park overshadow all that the rest of the town has to offer. The next time you’re in this gorgeous area, make sure to pay a visit to Macedonia Brook. This magnificent state park may not be quite as famous as its flashy neighbor, but it’s most definitely worth exploring. It’s got numerous hiking trails and we feel like it’s one of the best state parks to visit in Connecticut.
Macedonia Brook State Park sits on 2,300 acres in Kent. It’s a peaceful place that’s perfect for hiking, picnicking, fishing, or just relaxing and getting away from it all.

Though the park has numerous hiking paths, the Macedonia Brook Loop is definitely one of the most popular.

At 2.2 miles, this out and back trail doesn’t have a lot of length, but it an be hard for novice hikers. It is pretty steep, though we feel like the end views are absolutely worth the effort.
