Grandeur Peak Trail Summit A Mountain Peak During Winter In Utah

Who says that you can’t do incredible things in the winter like summit a mountain peak? Grandeur Peak is located on the east side of the Salt Lake Valley. It is an 8,299-foot summit that can be challenging and steep in areas. However, it’s also one of the few climbs that you can tackle during the winter months in the Beehive State. This winter hiking trail in Utah won’t be easy, but it will be worth it.

Grandeur Peak is one of the faster mountains you can summit in Utah. To reach the peak, you will have a 5.5-mile, out-and-back trail ahead of you.

This is not an easy climb and it is not ideal for beginner hikers. However, if you have the experience and you want a challenge, the Grandeur Peak Trail in Utah will be unforgettable.

You will find the trailhead on the Church Fork Picnic Area road. This road may be closed during the winter months, but you are welcome to park outside and hike a short distance to the trailhead.

This is a fairly popular winter hike so don’t be surprised to find the snow packed on the trail. However, the snow can become slick in areas so make sure you don’t forget a pair of spikes for your hiking boots.

You will climb more than 2,300 feet in elevation. While there are inclines along the trail, you’ll find many steep areas near the summit.
