Hell’s Gate Bridge is an abandoned bridge that’s become a legend in the town of Oxford. According to several locals, in the 1950s, a young couple drove off this bridge and into the river below.

It’s been said that if you stop on this bridge and turn your lights off, the young couple will enter your car and leave a wet spot behind on the seat. According to reports, this has happened to many people.

In late 2005/early 2006, Hell’s Gate Bridge was officially closed to traffic. To keep people safe, cement blocks were added to block off the bridge so people won’t be tempted to drive across it. People still visit Hell’s Gate Bridge by foot, but because if its condition, it’s not recommended. “No Trespassing” signs have also been put up.
