In fact, many of the best places to stay in Nevada are nowhere near the Strip! Some of our favorites include The Retreat on Charleston Peak, an intensely beautiful resort on Mt. Charleston. We also love Edgewood Tahoe, which is – you guessed it – at Lake Tahoe. Other popular places to stay in Nevada include the Old Pioneer Garden Country Inn, up in Unionville (northern Nevada), Cactus Pete’s, Death Valley Inn, and plenty of places in Laughlin, Reno, and Vegas (that aren’t, like we said, on the Strip). Don’t sleep on the small towns, though, either – many are truly wonderful! What are some wonderful getaway spots in Nevada? Nevada doesn’t get the credit it deserves for its beauty and getaway potential if you ask us. For example, did you know that Nevada – not Colorado, Alaska, or Wyoming – is the hot springs capital of the United States? Yep – there are more than 300 known natural hot springs all over the state, some of which are developed (ie, resorts and retreats were built up around them) and many of which are wild and free. Some, though, are much too hot for soaking, so make sure to do your research while planning that particular kind of getaway adventure. Then, there are our amazing state parks and natural wonders. If you’ve never been to Lake Tahoe, you absolutely NEED to. It’s something else entirely in the “beautiful” department. Red Rock Canyon is awe-inspiring, and Pyramid Lake is somehow both odd and majestic simultaneously.
