Choosing just one great outdoor attraction in New Hampshire is just about impossible. There are so many to choose from and a ton of different regions to visit, that we’ve never been able to do it. Instead, we like to just give people some of our favorites when asked for recommendations. Each year this gondola ride is at the top of our list and today we’re sharing it with you so you don’t miss out on the beauty this season.
Most of us think about New Hampshire’s ski resorts in the winter. Naturally, that’s a pretty good time to think about the kind of place that’s dedicated to snowy-weather fun!

But this season we recommend thinking about Loon Mountain Resort in Lincoln for fall foliage fun. Specifically, make plans to enjoy the Gondola Skyride!

It’s easy to see them from the ground, but the gondola ride offers a bird’s-eye view that you won’t want to miss.

At more than 7,000 feet in length, this is New Hampshire’s longest scenic gondola. The ride takes visitors from the base all the way to the summit of Loon Peak.

And while the destination is nice, it’s the journey that we’re here for.

The ascent is about 1.3 miles, which means you’ll have plenty of time to take in the views.

And there are lots to take in!
Each gondola can fit up to four people, which means you can safely ride with just the group you came with. And if you’re open to making new friends you can do that without a packed ride to the top.

Once you arrive you’ll have the chance to explore the top before heading back down to the base for another view of the foliage.

The Loon Mountain Gondola Skyride operates in the fall from Thursday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through most of October. You can also enjoy it in the spring and summer on a different schedule. Click here to check out the full operating hours throughout the year. To catch the fall foliage you’ll want to get there soon to make sure you don’t miss it for the season. Tickets are $29 for adults 13 to 64, $27 for adults 65+ and $24 for kids 6 to 12.
