Hike Through Beautiful Scenery On Doyles River Loop In Virginia

To be clear, this is a rather taxing hike, but for those who are up for an all-day adventure, they’ll be rewarded with three beautiful waterfalls and unbeatable views of Shenandoah National Park. Within the ancient forests of Shenandoah National Park awaits a trail perfect for the outdoor adventurer. Doyles River Falls Loop is the combination of the Doyles River Fall Trail, Appalachian Trail, and Jones Run Trail.

To be clear, this isn’t the best hike for beginners. The loop is nearly 10 miles and requires significant elevation gain. However, as you can see, the views and attractions along the way will reward your effort.

It’s recommended that hikers start at the Doyles River Parking Lot along Skyline Drive and go clockwise. Within the first four miles, you’ll be treated to some of the park’s most exquisite waterfalls: Doyles River Falls (both the lower and upper sets), and Jones Run Falls.
