Good news! Even though this winter has been (and is predicted to continue to be) colder than usual across Iowa, spring is on the way. And, for 2022 at least, the AccuWeather forecast predicts that spring in Iowa will come a little earlier than usual and be slightly warmer than average. Sounds good to us!
The AccuWeather team expects February to continue with slightly colder than usual temperatures across Iowa, but come March, things will begin to warm up quickly.

In fact, March should see average temperatures running a couple of degrees higher than usual across the state.

In other words, come March, it will feel like spring.

And in Iowa, spring is always a welcome, busy season. Plants sprout, young and strong. Flowers bloom, bright and delicate. Trees leaf out, beautiful in shades of fresh green.

Spring in Iowa means farming. It means gardening. It means walks in the woods. It means festivals and events.

And of course, along with that, it means ticks. It means some mud. No season is perfect, after all, even though spring does seem to come pretty close!
