No matter where you are in Colorado, you are guaranteed to be surrounded by beauty, thanks to the Foothills along the Front Range, the many Western Slope mesas, surprising desert-scapes, and colorful Eastern Plains. That being said, there is no “ugly” place in Colorado… right? As per one national publication, there is, and its name is Lochbuie:
According to alot.com - which covers everything from travel to health, finances, and education, the small, Adams/Weld County town of Lochbuie is the ugliest town in Colorado.

As per Alot’s The Ugliest Cities in Each State, “Lochbuie isn’t coated in muck or anything, but that doesn’t make it worthy of praise either,” adding that “Aerial shots of the town provide onlookers little information about the city’s character other than ‘Wow, that’s a small town.’”
In addition, Alot shares that Lochbuie - which was initially called Space City and served as a mobile home park - is “flat, it’s gray, and its disturbing lack of flora in the suburbs seems unnatural for Colorado, which is famous for its gorgeous landscapes and wildlife.”

While we will agree that Lochbuie isn’t the same as other Colorado towns, we find that to be a GOOD thing, as the city manages to pack in 6 public parks AND 82 acres of designated open space within a compact 3.25 square miles.
