It may seem hard to believe, but this holiday season is fast approaching. Even as the chill enters the air and we all start to worry about pulling the layers out of the closet, there is the joy and cheer of the approaching time spent with loved ones to pull us through! This year looks like it is going to be a great one in Rhode Island, with outdoor markets and festivals, themed menus at restaurants, and general merriment abounding, you are guaranteed to have a fun time no matter what you choose to do. One event that we are really looking forward to is the Roger Williams Park Zoo’s Holiday Lights Spectacular.

Most folks are likely familiar with the pumpkin spectacular that Roger Williams Park Zoo puts on annually. Every year thousands of pumpkins are carned to fit a theme and set along a stunning illuminated path throughout the park.

Well, this year, the park is trying something new and just as exciting, a holiday lights spectacular!

We don’t know much about the festival yet, but with how great the pumkins are every year, we think it’s safe to say that this is gonna be a pretty magical event.

What we do know is that this event will feature over 1.5 MILLION lights!

Yup, you heard that right, 1.5 million individual lights! No matter what is done with those lights, with that many, this event is guaranteed to be utterly dazzling.

And maybe if you’re lucky, you’ll be able to spot an elephant as you walk to the lights!

It’s so fun just imagining what the Holiday Lights spectacular will look like, wouldn’t it be cool to be one of the first people to see it? Tickets will be 12 dollars for adults and 10 dollars for children ages 2-12. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the nights of November 26th through the 28th, December 2nd through the 5th, and December 9th through January 2nd. Book your tickets here, and RSVP to the Facebook event for updates.
