The small town of Meers was once a bustling gold mine town due to its close proximity to the Wichita Mountains. In 1901, a little burger joint opened up to feed all the hungry miners, and although the town dwindled away over the years, the restaurant survived. Meers Store & Restaurant might be the only thing left in town, but it has become world-famous for its Meersburger and is known as the “Best Burger In Oklahoma.” Here’s more on Meers, largely considered to be among the most unique restaurants in Oklahoma.
The unassuming restaurant not only serves the “Best Burger in Oklahoma,” but it’s been listed as one of the Top 10 Burgers In America several times.

Meers Gold Beer is a wheat beer made from an original recipe from the Choctaw Nation. It’s served in an oversized 22 ounce bottle because they say, “that’s what it takes to wash down a Meersburger!”
