There’s something so delicious and soul-filling about an authentic Southern meal. But honestly, it’s kind of tough to find them around here; after all, the Midwest is known for its legendary comfort food… but you just can’t get real, authentic southern flavor up here. Or can you? Enter Mississippi Belle, an all-you-can-eat southern restaurant in Indiana where your mouth gets to go on a vacation. If you should find yourself looking for an incredible meal just like you got in the South way back when, you’ll need to head up to Indy and have yourself some of this amazing, heavenly comfort food done perfectly right.
Following a destructive fire in 2019, Mississippi Belle came back stronger and better than ever, with all-new renovations that didn’t sacrifice the original homey feel.
Brian R/TripAdvisor Here’s the deal: you come in and you sit down. You choose your meat; it can be anything from pan-fried chicken (ah-mazing) to meatloaf to slow-roasted pork. It almost doesn’t matter what you pick - it’s gonna be great no matter what.
Then, you and the rest of your table are to agree upon which four sides you’d all like to share - and then your meals are brought out plate-by-plate, served family style.

The hard part, really, is two things: one, picking just one thing to start with and two, not eating the entire restaurant in one sitting.
Mississippi Belle/Facebook This is one of those places where you just know you’re going to need to unbutton the button on your pants before you even begin eating.
And, well, you’d be right.
BatGuano30/TripAdvisor If you go through and comb the reviews on various websites, you’ll notice a common theme. Phrases like the best ever, huge portions, and juicy and tender are ubiquitous.
In fact, it was these glowing reviews that made us want to try this place so badly.
Derek C./FourSquare When you’ve got hundreds of reviews - in some cases, thousands - and your rating is still four or more stars, you know you’re doing the restauranting thing right.
Some important reminders before you go: they are cash only, but they do have an ATM on-site.
Amy B./FourSquare Oh, and try to control yourself when it comes to the hot-water cornbread… it’s worth freaking out about.
