If swimming in a waterfall-fed pool sounds like your idea of paradise, you’re in luck. Turns out, we actually have a waterfall-fed pool right here in the Magnolia State! Not only is it a beautiful site, but it’s the perfect place to cool off on a hot summer day. Take a look:

Please note, Union Falls is no longer open to the public.

This is Union Falls in Jones County. Like many of Mississippi’s best treasures, it’s hidden in a small town.

More specifically, it’s located right off Ovett Moselle Road in Ovett. A short, worn path leads straight to the waterfall, making it easy to find (and access).

Located on Tallahala Creek, the waterfall flows over a cavernous ledge, forming a pool below.

The depth of the pool depends on water flow; however, it’s most always deep enough for a refreshing dip.

Between the cool, refreshing water and cascading fall, it’s no wonder Union Falls has long been a local favorite…
