Mount Rainier National Park Is One Of The Snowiest Places On Earth

National parks are, of course, stunning at any time of year. But there’s no denying that winter brings about a special kind of allure. That’s especially true in the case of Mount Rainier National Park in Washington. It just so happens to be one of the snowiest places on Earth (at least, that’s regularly recorded). Some of us love snow (as long as we’re not having to shovel it), some of us hate it. Mount Rainier National Park is one of the best national parks to visit in Washington, and if you dare to visit during the winter months, you’re in for a real treat. This place is such a dazzling, snow-covered winter wonderland worthy of a Christmas card!

Are you surprised that the snowiest national park isn’t in Alaska? Many find it shocking that it’s in the continental United States. The Paradise Area of Mount Rainier National Park in Washington experiences over 600 inches of snow each year!

In March of 1955, the park measured an incredible 357 inches of snowfall on the ground. That’s nearly 30 feet!
