In some places, you either have to look really hard or be a local in order to find a hidden gem. Hiding in plain sight in a Somerville neighborhood is one of the most mysterious places in the state. Known as the Museum of the Modern Renaissance, this is one hidden gem in Massachusetts worth seeking out.

The whimsically colorful Museum of the Modern Renaissance was founded in 2002 by Russian artists Ekaterina Sorokina and Nicholas Shaplyko who also happen to live here.
