Solly’s has a long history. It first opened in 1936, founded by Kenneth “Solly” Salmon. The restaurant was originally called Solly’s Coffee Shop.

Solly’s was located in Milwaukee before relocating to Glendale in 1971. Eventually the whole restaurant building moved one final time– by truck – to its current location a short distance down the street.

Everything here is done in a classic, delicious way. The restaurant serves homemade cherry pies and cherry shakes and malts that are made with Wisconsin Door County cherries. The shakes and malts are served up in steel cans.
