It’s only natural that some places fall through the cracks and don’t get as much attention as they probably deserve. One underrated park in New York that we absolutely love is the Betty and Wilbur Davis State Park in Westford. This hilltop oasis spans 223 acres in beautiful Otsego County. It’s filled with a gorgeous hardwood forest, and has amazing views and an expansive system of hiking trails....

Everyone (or nearly everyone) knows about the Appalachian Trail. But not many realize that, although only small segments of the trail cut through the Mountain State, the portion that passes through Harpers Ferry, West Virginia contains perhaps the most geographically significant place along the whole 2,190-mile route: the Appalachian Trail’s psychological midpoint.
