Unfortunately, with such an abundance of state parks, we probably miss out on a few of the hidden gems. This underrated state park in Pennsylvania, for example, is well worth a visit and might even become your new favorite outdoor destination.

Spanning 2,000 acres across Wayne County, Prompton State Park offers an idyllic backdrop for a day outdoors - whether it’s a scorching summer day or a snowy winter afternoon.

The park’s perfect for explorers and those looking to just kick back and relax. If you’re up for a picturesque adventure, slip on your hiking boots and hit one of the hiking trails.

Approximately 26 miles of hiking trails meander through the park. The shortest - Sidewinder Trail and Eagle Pass Trail - both span just a mile.
