Luge sledding is an underrated winter pastime, and you don’t often hear about it here in Washington. But if you pay a visit to the Loup Loup Ski Bowl, you can barrel down Bear Mountain in a luge sled.

Loup Loup Ski Bowl is owned and operated by Loup Loup Ski Education Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting a lifelong passion for outdoor winter recreation through education.

Luge sledding, which is popular in Europe (and an Olympic sport), is definitely different than the sledding you did as a child.

Ski the Loup These sleds weigh 50 pounds and can hit speeds of 90 miles per hour. And you steer your luge with your calves.
