Sometimes there’s nothing better than relaxing with a refreshing pint of hard cider. Made from fermented apple juice, hard cider has become a popular beverage throughout the country. While Illinois is home to some incredible beer breweries, cideries aren’t as easy to come by here. However, you can head into Chicago and find Right Bee Cider, the first cidery in the city.
Open since 2014, Right Bee Cider occupies a red brick building that was once a Schwinn bicycle facility. It’s the first urban cidery in Chicago.

Cider is created with fresh pressed apples, and then the juice is fermented. Sometimes other ingredients like honey or fresh fruit are added to create a flavored hard cider.

Try the Dry or Semi-Dry hard cider or the Muzzle of Bees which is made with elderflower and honey from the brewery’s hives (yes, they have their own beehives). It’s also named after one of the owners’ favorite songs.
