Sunday River Ski Resort in Newry, Maine is another wonderful resort. It has eight interconnected mountain peaks and high capacity high speed lifts. So you’re sure to get in a lot of runs here. Night skiing is also offered, so it is definitely worth checking out. For a resort close to Portland, be sure to check out Shawnee Peak. Just 45 minutes from the city, it is great for family skiing. There are 41 trails over 249 acres, and is perfect for skiers and boarders of all abilities. Saddleback Mountain in Rangley has recently reopened and it is a much beloved ski resort in Maine.
