Simply put, seeing this awe-inspiring cascade is an item that definitely belongs on your bucket list. Getting a view of Lower Yosemite Fall is easiest. The 320-foot drop is easily observed via a popular viewing area in the park. Additionally, Yosemite Creek flows from the base of the falls, flowing into the nearby Merced River.

Upper Yosemite Fall is arguably the most impressive section of the falls. Comprised of a 1,430-foot drop, this section makes up over half of the waterfall’s total height. Trails in the park lead hikers up to both the base and top of the upper fall.

The middle falls are known as the Middle Cascades and they make up the waterfall’s most elusive section. There aren’t many ways that park visitors can easily access viewpoints of the middle falls and hiking to them is dangerous. Hikers who have tried in the past have required helicopter rescue due to the steep, rugged terrain.
