If you’ve ever wanted to have a real-life Sound of Music moment, this is the place where you can do just that.

The Rowena Plateau is a stunning viewpoint and trailhead along the Columbia River Highway, offering jaw-dropping views of the Crown Jewel of the Pacific Northwest, the incredible Columbia River Gorge.

Accessing this overlook is an enchanting adventure, too. This two-mile loop trail is an easy and straightforward route where the journey is truly as beautiful as the destination. Because it’s so accessible, the trail can be a bit crowded in the springtime, so head out early in the day if you want to avoid a ton of foot traffic.
