We absolutely love Delaware — it’s such a pretty state with so much to offer! But while the state is hardly lacking in natural beauty (one visit to one of the gorgeous beaches here will remind you of that), it’s true that there’s one feature we’re really missing here: waterfalls. Still, a visit one of the best state parks in the area will help you get that waterfall fix.

OK, so Delaware may be home to some amazing natural features, but waterfalls are rare here.

Alapocas Run State Park, located by Wilmington in New Castle, Delaware, is a gorgeous park with plenty of fun hiking trails, a quarry, and lots of rock climbing opportunities.

We really like that you can see multiple pretty waterfalls here as you walk along the river.

So, if you love climbing, biking, hiking, or waterfalls, this place is a must-visit for you. The park is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and the entrance fee is $4 for people who live in-state, and $8 for people who live out of state.
