The Public Market is located in Milwaukee’s historic Third Ward neighborhood. The market is modeled after Seattle’s Pike Place market and it aims to support local businesses. Space in the building is leased to a variety of food vendors. When the market opened, it primarily sold raw ingredients, but over time more businesses offered food that was ready to eat.

The business is part fish monger, part restaurant and there’s a lot to love at St. Paul Fish Company. Let’s start with the starters – choose from options like Oysters Rockefeller, Herring in Cream Sauce, Cajun BBQ Shrimp, and the aptly-named “Salmon Crack.” The fish fry is also incredible – there are several options but if you can’t decide, go for the Schlitz Battered Cod Fry.
