To find the trailhead, take Highway 154 West from Santa Barbara into the mountains. Turn left onto W Camino Cielo Road and follow it for just over three miles until you reach the trailhead which is marked by a small wooden sign.

The lower trail departs from the parking area and is a quick, 500-yard hike. This is the most popular route to Lizard’s Mouth Rock since the rocky terrain is well-suited for some easy and fun scrambling.

The upper trail is even shorter than the lower trail and is a mostly dirt trail. This trail is more suited for those who just want to catch the sunrise/sunset and are not necessarily interested in hopping rocks or getting a workout.
