Cemeteries can be quite creepy places to many people, and Bachelor’s Grove Cemetery in Midlothian is an abandoned cemetery that is also considered haunted.

The area where the cemetery is located was first settled by Irish, English, German, and Scottish immigrants from the late-1920s through the 1940s.

Over time, the Bachelor’s Grove Cemetery was established within the settlement. Today, it is one of the oldest cemeteries in the southern part of Cook County.

Eventually, the one-acre cemetery became inactive and was subject to break-ins and vandalism. Many headstones were also destroyed or removed.

The last burials at Bachelor’s Grove Cemetery took place in 1965 and 1989. After that, there were no additional burials and it was left to abandon.
