The Davenport Skybridge In Iowa Is A Pedestrian Bridge With A View

Pedestrian skybridges. They’re all over the nation, including America’s longest in Tennessee. But you know, right, that we’ve got skywalks in Iowa, too? And perhaps the most well-known skybridge in the Hawkeye State is the Davenport Skybridge that overlooks the Mississippi River, affectionately nicknamed “The Bridge To Nowhere.”

It’s a beautiful, cable-stayed pedestrian bridge that crosses over Highway 67 (River Drive) between LeClaire Park and a courtyard and parking ramp by the River Music Experience on 2nd Street.

It’s 50 feet tall and 575 feet long. It features an observation deck on the south end of the bridge that provides a fabulous view of the city and of the water.
