Did you know that there’s a historic bathhouse in Iowa? It’s the oldest pool bathhouse in the Hawkeye State and the only significant example left standing of the many federally sponsored Works Progress Administration buildings constructed in Iowa in the 1930s as part of the New Deal.

As such, it’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Although it’s been threatened with destruction at various times in the past decades, the city and the people of Decorah, Iowa have rallied together around this historic structure to preserve and promote it.
