There are a lot of reasons we’re lucky to live in New Hampshire. The nature, the attractions, and the people are just a few. But, if we had to pick a favorite it would be the food. With so many different kinds of people, ethnicities, and lifestyles, there’s something new and exciting to try all the time. We love the new ones, but we can’t forget some of the beloved older spots. These are so great that they haven’t had to change a thing since day one. This spot, in North Hampton, is a great example.
Al’s Seafood in North Hampton isn’t one of the oldest restaurants in the state but it does offer great seafood in New Hampshire, with recipes that haven’t changed since the beginning.

Their menu is large and laid out on a board for you to make your (difficult!) choice.

We love the way this place is set-up. It feels nautical and things here are casual.

And the seafood is some of the best! You can’t go wrong with lobster.

Their chowder recipe is one of the best we’ve tried.

There are lots of fun ways to enjoy history and a great meal. The oldest restaurant in New Hampshire has a resident golden retriever and an unforgettable menu.
