If you’re a fan of Dr. Seuss, you must take a trip to the Springfield Museums where you’ll find a whimsical storybook place in Massachusetts. From the pages out of books like The Lorax, Horton Hears a Who, and The Cat in the Hat, Dr. Seuss’s characters are brought to life at the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden.
Springfield Museums is a complex that’s home to several museums, including a science museum, an art museum, a history museum, and The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum.

The Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden was first opened in 2002 to honor Theodore Seuss Geisel, a.k.a. “Dr. Seuss,” who was born in Springfield.

Found within the Springfield Museums’ quadrangle, you can take a stroll around the garden. Here you’ll find sculptures of some of your favorite characters taken right out of the pages of many beloved Dr. Seuss books.

In all, there are over 30 bronze sculptures scattered throughout the park. They were created by artist and stepdaughter to Theodore Geisel, Lark Grey Dimond-Cates.
