Mullins Cheese Store is located in Central Wisconsin, near the Wisconsin River. It’s in the town of Knowlton, which is just outside Mosinee and about 20 minutes south of Wausau.

This cheesy enterprise was founded by two cheesemakers who were bar buddies: Emil Wimmer & Mel Mullins. They decided to go into business together.

Generations later, Mullins Cheese is still booming. In fact, Mullins Family operates the largest family owned cheese manufacturing and whey processing facilities in the state of Wisconsin.

Since 1970, Mullins Cheese has operated a retail store that’s just minutes off Interstate 39 - look for it off of exit 175.

The store has a big selection of cheese in stock – you’ll find Cheddar, Colby, Monterey Jack, Colby, as well as Parmesan, Romano & Asiago. It even sells a super-hot Ghost Chili Gouda. Be careful with that last one! And of course, there are fresh curds that you can take on the road for a snack.
