In a historic part of the town of Petersburg, West Virginia (located in Grant County), there’s an old cottage. And by old, we mean built-in-1854 old.

This nearly 170-year-old structure was originally a doctor’s office for Dr. Thomas Jefferson Grove. It also provided a living space for his caretaker. Dr. Grove lived in the main house right next door.

You can still find these historic buildings in Petersburg, only now the main house is the doctor’s office and the adjoining cottage is a cafe and bakery!

The Grove Cafe & Bakery is a beautiful venue with indoor and outdoor seating and even space for small events.

The Cafe is open Mondays through Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and serves coffee, desserts, and light meals.
