There are a ton of things to love about being in Kentucky, but high on our list is the access to natural beauty. From scenic overlooks to camping, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy our state. But, as always, one of our favorite ways to enjoy life here is to get outside and explore — especially on the trails. And this park system in Louisville has quickly become a go-to for us. Here’s what you need to know to take the Humana Grand Allee Trail, one of the best hikes in Kentucky:

Today we’re focusing on Beckley Creek Park, which is one of our favorites for beautiful walks and hikes where you can get immersed in nature.

All 10 are magnificent, but if you’re looking for an easy and simple walk, the Humana Grand Allee Trail is a great choice. The route is about a half-mile long and it has tons of views with lots of different landscapes.

You’ll start your trip along a stone path before reaching the wetlands, which offer a totally different experience. You’ll be surprised that this place exists so close to the city.
