The One Loop Trail In Oklahoma That S Perfect All Year Around

No matter what time of the year it is, Beavers Bend State Park is the perfect place to visit for outdoor recreation, especially hiking. Friends Trail Loop is a 1.5-mile loop trail that offers stunning scenery, including river and waterfall views. It’s rated as moderate due to a few steep inclines, but it’s perfect for those who are looking for a little more than a flat walk.

Beavers Bend State Park is a 1,300-acre state park in southern Oklahoma that is surrounded by majestic beauty, crystal clear water, and endless recreation. It’s our little slice of paradise in the Sooner State, and we highly recommend everyone visit at least once to see the scenery firsthand.

Friends Trail is the first trail in 15 years to open in Beavers Bend State Park. It’s a 1.5-mile loop trail that begins at Spillway Creek below the dam and then loops back to the trailhead.

This intermediate trail is great for active kids but might be difficult for younger-aged children due to steep inclines and rocks in the path.

It’s beautiful year-round because it doesn’t get as hot or as cold as some other parts of the state. You’ll wind through Oklahoma’s woods and along a stunning river and waterfall.

Bring a picnic along and stop by the river for epic views. There’s plenty of shade along the trail, so the sun is blocked on a good portion of the trail when the trees have all their leaves.
