From the remarkable Sawtooth Mountains to Lake Coeur d’Alene to even City of Rocks, the features around the Gem State are breathtaking. However, did you know that Idaho is also home to the most beautiful hills in America? The popular publication, Country Living, named The Palouse as America’s most beautiful hills and we have to wholeheartedly agree.
The Palouse region is truly one natural wonder in Idaho that is often overlooked but it sure is remarkable – any time of the year.

This area is actually more than 18,000 square miles and it encompasses parts of north-central Idaho, Washington, and Oregon.

What’s interesting about the hills in the Palouse is they were formed thousands of years ago. They were made from dust and silt called loess that blew into the area from dust storms.

Moscow, in Latah County, is one of the best places to enjoy the Palouse in Idaho. No matter which direction you come into town, you’ll drive through the Palouse and receive some of the most mesmerizing views.
