Not many restaurants include an advisory to “be sure to bring your camera” in their promotion materials, but that’s an important suggestion for patrons of The View Restaurant. The dining venue is attached to The View Hotel, and the simple name is really all that’s needed as a selling point. The windows framing the Monument Valley provide a spectacular view any time of day, but especially so in the evening as the sun sets on the buttes, mesas and pinnacles.
Sunset dining moves to a whole other level in Monument Valley, located on the Utah-Arizona border. If you’re trying to gauge the sunset time, note that the area remains on “Utah time” year-round.

The entrance to Monument Valley is in southeastern Utah, about 50 miles southwest of the town of Bluff. Monument Valley extends across the Arizona border and, in a strict geographic sense, The View is part of Arizona. Utahans certainly will claim their share of the majestic land, though.
