Dakota City Heritage Village is a lovely attraction in Farmington, Minnesota. This community is about 30 miles south of the Twin Cities, making this an easy destination for those who live in the metro area. The village preserves what rural Minnesota life was like in the early 1900s.

It’s interesting year-round, but Christmastime brings a festive spirit to the village. The many buildings - a barber, a post office, a school, and more - are decked out in holiday lights and garlands. There’s even a gazebo with a lovely lighted outdoor Christmas tree.

This historic Christmas village is sure to infuse your holiday season with joy. In 2021, it’s open 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on December 4-5 and December 11-12. Visitors may also drive through the lit village on any night of the month!
